What a turn out ! Thank you to all those who came into school wearing red today. As a school we stand against all forms of bullying. What an important message to share with our children and community. Well done Riverside !

Year 5 Tudor Workshop

On Monday, Richard ‘That History Bloke’ visited Year 5. We learned lots of new information about life during the Tudor era. The class took part in a true/false quiz to test current knowledge about the Tudors, they looked at a variety of Tudor artefacts and discussed what they would be used for by the Tudors. They also used quills and ink to write a death warrant. At the end we played a Tudor board game called Merelles. All of Y5 had an excellent time during the day!

Eliza takes part in many different activities outside of school such as dancing, singing and football. She loves to bring in her awards to show the entire school during Friday assembly. This week Eliza brought in one of her football trophies, well done Eliza we are so proud of you!

Riverside Football Team

Last night, our football team played at Ryton Federation in the County Cup tournament. Although we did not make it to the finals, they all played extremely well in all three games. I was so impressed with their teamwork skills, resilience and support of each other. Eco Award Celebration!

Riverside Primary Academy are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded our first Green Flag by Eco Schools England this year . This special award recognises the work we have completed as a school to learn about environmental issues as part of our curriculum and to take action to be more sustainable in and outside of school.
