In school today our children were in great spirits and looking absolutely fantastic in black and white.  We’ve listened to Local Hero and  sang along to The Blaydon Races throughout the day.  All in support of Newcastle United’s trip to Wembley on Sunday. HOWAY THE LADS!!!

Happy World Book Day to everyone! We all had an amazing day celebrating Reading and World Book Day today! Children came to school in comfy clothes or as a book character of their choice and all looked FANTASTIC! Even the teachers chose their favourite characters to dress as for the day as you can see by the photos below including the hungry caterpillar in Nursery, Dorothy and Mini mouse in Reception. Key Stage 1 were all characters from Alice in wonderland including Alice, the Mad Hatter, Queen of hearts, the Cheshire cat, rabbit and the queens guards – the cards!...

Year 6 are learning about World War 2 and have been looking at Vera Lynn’s war-time songs. Katie has brought in a photo and medal from her Grandad who fought in the Korean war; he had heard Vera Lynn singing as he left to go to war.

Key stage one have been very busy today creating Valentines masterpieces! They have been drawing valentines day pictures, making heart wreaths, love bugs and using the laptops to create Valentines day cards!

The Eco- Cops have delivered an assembly today explaining the importance of looking after our planet. We are also launching ‘Switch Off Fortnite’ beginning today. In the next 2 weeks we are trying to save as much electricity as possible in school. Can you join in at home and help do your bit for our wonderful planet?
