Making Volcanoes in Year 4

27 Feb Making Volcanoes in Year 4

Year 4 have been studying Natural Disasters last half term. In geography, we investigated a variety of disasters such as; volcanoes, earthquakes, tsunamis and floods.  In Computing, we used Excel to create graphs and charts about earthquakes. In English, we wrote instructions about How to Make Your Own Volcano.  In art we followed these instructions.

We made our own paper mâché volcano with newspaper and PVA glue. Once it was dry we painted it. After that, we made a chemical reaction with bicarbonate of soda, vinegar, washing up liquid and warm water; this made the volcano explode. We had great fun! Here are some photos of our volcanoes.
