3D Shape Making in Year 6

01 Feb 3D Shape Making in Year 6

Year 6 had an excellent time in maths today creating 3D shapes using cocktail sticks to represent the shapes’ edges and marshmallows to represent the vertices.

Some shapes were easy to create like the cube. However, some appeared to be a little bit more challenging – the dodecahedron!

This was a good recap of 3D shapes’ properties for the children and will help us in later lessons, when looking at 2D nets of 3D shapes.
