Free School Meals During School Shutdown

20 Mar Free School Meals During School Shutdown

Update – Monday 23rd March 2020:

Just to clarify a couple of things with regards to the collection of packed lunches this week.

Packed lunches can be collected for any pupil whose family is in receipt of Means Tested Free School Meals. Parent/Carers with a SchoolGrid account should have received an email on Friday evening containing a voucher code which must be provided to the kitchen by the person collecting the packed lunch. (This can be written down or shown on your phone).

Packed lunches can also be collected for any child from Reception, Year 1 & Year 2 as part of the government funded Universal Infant Free School Meals. A  voucher code is not required to collect these meals but you will be asked to confirm the name of your child and the class they are in.

Finally, to adhere to correct social distancing requirements, the Collection Point for packed lunches will be changed to the main kitchen door as of tomorrow (Tuesday). The kitchen door is located to the right of the community room, around the corner and can be collected between 11.30am and 1pm.

Further information on the Aldi vouchers will follow as soon as we have an update on this.

During the school shutdown we will be offering a school meal provision for all children who currently receive a free school meal. This applies to all children in KS1 and Reception as well as all children who receive a means tested school meal.

During the first week of the school shut down, we will be offering a takeaway packed lunch. In subsequent weeks, we will be supplying Aldi vouchers to all applicable families.

Week Commencing 23rd March anyone who wants to pick up a school lunch should come to the School Kitchen door, situated to the right of the community room around the corner between 11.30am and 1pm.

In the following week, you will be able to pick up vouchers from the school office. Further details of that will follow.
