Meal Vouchers Update

As a school we provided families who receive FSM (free school meals) and UIFSM (universal infant free school meals) with food vouchers, to be used at a local supermarket, as an alternative to packed lunches.

Following the official government guidance released on Friday for the provision of food vouchers for eligible families, the only families eligible to receive meal vouchers will be those who qualify for FSM (e.g. through a means tested benefit). Unfortunately, this means we will no longer be able to provide vouchers to those who receive UIFSM (which includes all children from Reception to Year 2).

Additionally, vouchers are not to be provided during school holiday periods so the next issue of vouchers will take place week commencing Monday 20th April 2020.

In order for parent/carers who are eligible for means tested Free School Meals to ensure that you receive your vouchers moving forward, we must have your current address, telephone number and email address on our records. Please click on the following link to complete a short form which will give us your correct contact information: Contact Details Form

We cannot take responsibility for families not receiving their entitlement if your contact details and/or address held in school records are incorrect. It is your responsibility to inform us of any changes.

Once again, thank you to everyone for your efforts during this worrying time. Our staff continue to work hard at home and in school to ensure that the children’s transition back into education, whenever that may happen, will be as comfortable as possible for our families.

Further details of the government guidelines can be found online.

Important information from Government:

Be aware of scam emails

We have been informed that some parents have received an email stating the following: ‘As schools will be closing, if you’re entitled to free school meals, please send your bank details and we’ll make sure you’re supported’.

We can confirm that this is a scam email and is not official. We urge parents that if you receive any emails like this, please do not respond, and delete it immediately.
